Brief Answer:
Most likely worked
Detailed Answer:
HI.
I have read your message.
All the features that you have written are largely suggestive of the fact that the pill has worked.
However, there are only 2 ways to be absolutely sure-
1. test a urine pregnancy test.
2. test a serum beta hcg.
The second test is a better test. And I will suggest that if you are planning to test.
Since there was a bleeding, I am more bound to favour the possibility of the pill having worked.
My best wishes.

So the bleeding 2 days later highly suggests that the pill worked even with the cramps and the cervical mucus?
Brief Answer:
Explained
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for your reply.
As I said before and as you have correctly inferred.
The bleeding is suggestive of pill having worked.
The mucus plug and cramps are on the other hand often suggestive of implantation. Having said that, they may also signify either small changes of the vagina and uterus following intrrcourse or some minor infection.
Therefore I suggested the 2 tests.
That would help confirm the pregnancy/lack of it.
I would also suggest use of protection to avoid anxiety in subsequent episodes.
Best of luck, Dr Mittal

Hi
Thanks for your response.
While this still favors my conclusions that its less likely to be pregnancy, the issue of mucus plug remains.
Therefore, I would still suggest the tests.

I have not had mucus for the last 2 days.
Brief Answer:
need more information
Detailed Answer:
Then there is a possibility that it might have been a mild infection as I suggested.
So we need to look at the cramps. Where exactly are the cramps. Is there any other associated symptom like nausea or vomit or stool complaints. Did you eat anything outside. Was it related to menses. Does it change with urination or defecation.

The cramps are on the lower part of my abdomen. I had nausea for 2 days, which was about 5 days after i had intercourse. I did not have nausea until after I had something to eat from a restaurant. I've been feeling a lot better now and am not nauseous at all. Just the mild cramps. I am not on my period currently. I had finished my period 3 days before intercourse

Thank you for the details.
1. if your periods (bleeding) ended 3 days before intercourse, its impossible to be pregnancy. The ovum is usually released about 14th day after the bleeding, normally.
2. if the cramps started before intercourse, its unlikely to be caused by it. Nausea may have been associated to stomach infection secondary to outside food or to gastritis. I dont think it is due to intercourse. You may try a course of pantoprazole with metronidazole. The only thing against it is the pain being restricted to lower abdomen-stomach infection would be whole abdomen. The other possibility can be a urine infection that has been running for so long.
3. I think you need to test a urine routine, and culture and ultrasound abdomen.
