Is Pregnancy Possible Through Pre-ejaculatory Fluid?

Question: Hello Doctor,

Hope you are fine.

I have a concern. I had unprotected sex on XXXXXXX 22nd & XXXXXXX 25th. With regards to the unprotected sex which I had on XXXXXXX 25th, my partner did not ejaculate inside. It was done basically outside.

Again on XXXXXXX 28th & Feb 1st, I had unprotected sex of the same nature which is he didn't ejaculate inside, but at the time of ejaculation only he used a condom and hence he ejaculated inside condom. Will precum cause pregnancy as I have heard mixed reviews and majority basis I have heard its impossible to get pregnant because of precum.

My LMP was on XXXXXXX 15th.

In all above instances, I had consumed high dosage of Marvelon tablets each time after the sexual act. Is there a chance of pregnancy as I'm really worried? My periods date is nearing and I'm so frustrated and tensed. I have this burning sensation near my vagina as well.

Is there a chance of avoiding pregnant at this stage that is if at all it happens?

Please advise and I'm hoping to hear positive advice from you. :(

Brief Answer:
There is a remote possibility of pregnancy with Precum.

Hi Miss Renjita,

How are you? I read your notes. Precum does contain few sperms sometimes. So there is a very small possibility of pregnancy with Precum.
Let us hope that the Marvelon that you have used is effective.

Since you have used Marvelon so many times this month there is a possibility that your period may get delayed this month. So I suggest that if you don't get your period by 15 th Feb get a blood pregnancy test done. If it is negative take progesterone tablets to start the period.

I'm fine except for the fact I'm over stressed and tensed because I fear that I may fall pregnant. I'm just associating with symptoms of pregnancy for no reason just out of stress and worry. I'm getting menstrual cramps every now and then.

I hope Marvelon tablets will work. In between I consumed many 'hot' fruits like pineapple and dates as well.

For your info, I have a dental issue and I'm consuming Enhancin 1g, Flagyl 400 mg & Olfen 50mg since 5 days. Hope the medicines are ok.

Please advise.

The medications you are taking for dental problem are okay. With these medications you should be feeling almost relieved of your dental problem by now. If not do consult your doctor.

I'm hoping I get periods on time. I have rashes on my stomach and my whole body itches. Even I have a burning sensation in my vaginal area. Would these be a part of Marvelon tablets which I consumed? The weather is cold here as well. Otherwise I'm fine. Please advise.

Stress itself can delay periods.

As I told you earlier be optimistic. Stress itself can delay periods.
It is very unlikely for Marvelon to cause rash and itching. Please consult Dermatologist for the same.

Vaginal burning can be due to some abrasion that might have occurred during sex or due to infection. If you vaginal discharge or if the burning sensation does not resolve in two days please consult Gynecologist for internal examination.
