Is Prolonged Intake Of Susten During Pregnancy Safe?
Question: In XXXXXXX I was prescribed susten 200 mg to be taken for 5 months after having 2 miscarriages.I have completed 5 months of my pregnancy and worried if stopping susten will kill the baby.I have travelled to USA a week back and don't have insurance yet to talk to doctor here.WIll I get any warning signs like spotting or bleeding or pain if the progesterone becomes low after stopping susten so that I can restart using susten. Please help.
Brief Answer:
Stop Susten. Its no longer required
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
I have read you query and I understand your concerns about susten.
Following is my reply:
1) Susten is a medicine containing progesterone hromone to support pregnancy during initial days. It is not necessary to be taken for so long.
2) Please stop susten immediately. It will not kill your baby.
3) Your body at this stage will produce enough progesterone hormone to support baby growth and you dont need susten.
4) You dont need to worry about any warning signs.
I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.
Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.
