Is Repetition Of Anti-rabies Vaccination Required For A Dog Bite After First Dose?

Question: I was bitten by a dog and I have taken all the five injections but after 12 days of fourth injection and two days before the fifth injection I was again bitten by a stray dog and after 7 days of taking fifth injection again I was scratched what will I do? May I take all the five doses again I am in great confusion and fear help me sir please please

Thanks for posting your query.

First of all relax. You don't need to take full course of rabies vaccine.

Just take one more shot of Rabies vaccine 4 weeks after the fifth dose , that would be sufficient.

I presume you have been given one Tetanus shot, if not get one.

Be careful with dogs next time.

Sir I am so unlucky that I was bitten 2 times after 12 days of fourth and after 7 days of fifth so I was in depression sir is 1 is enough for 2 repeated bites

Please help me sir to come out from this tentions

Yes One month additional dose 4 weeks after the 5th dose is sufficient. Just relax . You have got adequate vaccine . Nothing shall happen to you.
