Brief Answer:
Rheumatoid arthritis

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You are wondering if RA is curable the answer is no. Just like most diseases like hypertension and diabetes it can be treated and controlled. There are numerous agents to help control the disease and prevent destruction of joints. I would recommend that you see a rheumatologist to help design a proper treatment program to control your disease. They will probably start on methotrexate and if that does not work they may switch to biologicals like embrel or humira. These are called disease modifying medications and can halt the progression of RA.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
