Brief Answer:
The hernia should be repaired by a surgeon.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
You may try to start running and exercises however there is a great chance that this will cause the hernia to show up again. So it would be much better to consider hernia surgery and have it fixed. Once it has appeared, it will reappear again. And there is always a risk that such hernia will stuck.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Ok so I have scheduled a consultation for next week. Will the doctor schedule surgery at that time?Should I refrain from any physical activity? I usually work out every day for about 45 minutes. Is thee any activity golf, biking jogging that will not cause the hernia to reappear? I want to be cautious but I have had these hernias or at least the bulging for years without any adverse effects thank you
Brief Answer:
The doctor should schedule the surgery on this visit.
Detailed Answer:
Yes, the doctor should schedule the surgery at the visit. No other tests are necessary and the diagnosis is clear.
Any physical activity which causes abdominal pressure increase can cause hernia protrusion. Therefore this exercises should be avoided. However bike riding, golf, swimming or jogging should not cause such problems. So feel free to perform this kind of activities.
