Question: Dear Dr XXXXXXX
As per your advice,I took Montek LC for 10 days.I checked with Thyrocare if they would do the test you had prescribed-Allergo SPT, AllergDip, Food Detective, Food Print). They did a TOTAL IgE test and the result value is 229.1 and the range is >158 for adults. Is this the same test you suggested.Kindly advise.
Also, wanted to share that if I dont cover up and sleep under a fan, I get the allergy cold next day. What do I do

Best Regards,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Take a full course of medication as advised in my first answer.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. That is good. Did you also take a two week trial with a steroid nasal spray, regular steam inhalation and saline nasal washes (such as Nasowash, Physiomer)?

2. What effect have you noticed? Have you stopped using the Otrivin Nasal drops?

3. Total IgE is non-specific test but does give an idea about the severity of the allergies.

4. You will still have to do these specific tests.

5. Allergy to cold breeze (such as under a fan) is a non-specific allergy. Avoidance is the best option. The above mentioned treatment can decrease your sensitivity to cold breeze if taken regularly and then tapered over a few months.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
