Brief Answer:
Feeling cold after eating - information

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

There are a number of reasons people can feel cold during/after eating. I wouldn't get worried as most are not serious, but I would recommend that you go in to your doctor for an exam and some blood tests.

Some common reasons for this problem are:

1. Anemia, low iron: For this, get a complete blood count (CBC) and if there are signs of anemia, then iron studies.

2. Low blood pressure

3. Hypothyroidism: For this, get a TSH and free thyroxine drawn.

Less common causes are being underweight/anorexia, autoimmune disorders, advanced diabetes, malnutrition, or a very low carb diet. And, if combined with chest pain or pressure, feeling cold or chilled can be a heart symptom - in which case you should get help right away.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.
