Is Soreness Forearm Normal After A Shot Of Rabies Vaccination?
Side effect of vaccination likely
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.
Some people develop a tenderness in the area at the site of vaccination with anti rabies vaccine. Mild pain and fatigue may appear a few hours after vaccination.
After having the rabies vaccine, some people experience temporary soreness, redness and swelling at the injection site for 24-48 hours after the vaccination. In rare cases, some people may also experience:
a mild fever
headache
muscle aches
vomiting
a rash
You may watch for a day or two before going to a doctor but if the soreness is increasing and pain is worsening then you must rush to ER immediately.
Please send across a photo of your sore forearm if possible.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any further doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek
Please wait and watch for two days
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing back with an update.
I have seen the picture. It does not look serious in the photos. I suggest you wait and watch for a day or two and be alert for any redness, rise in temperature over the region and increasing pains. Most likely the swelling will subside and you will start feeling better.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any further doubts.
