stem cells injections in the knee arthritic cartilage are supposed to treat the arthritis in addition to producing tissue to heal the defect in the cartilage. Ideally these should provide a complete pain relief in few weeks and make the cartilage as smooth as new. But the therapy is still under research and the success rate of such injections is not completely known. You can try the injections for pain relief and to delay the knee replacement.
