Here are the xrays
Brief Answer:
Surgery is not needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
There is a fracture of neck of fifth metacarpal that shows a minor displacement. This can heal well in cast also. No immediate surgery is needed for this. Healing usually takes 4-6 weeks.
There is a suspected fracture of scaphoid bone in the wrist which can be evaluated better in an oblique view of wrist.
Hope my answer is helpful.

You orthopedic surgeon told me that I would have to have pins put in my hand
Brief Answer:
Surgery can be avoided.
Detailed Answer:
The pin will help in a 100% reduction but can cause stiffness of the joint. It can be treated conservatively also and full range of movement will be restored after some sessions of physiotherapy. Surgery can be avoided in this case.
Regards.
