Is Swollen Lymph Node In Neck A Symptom Of Cancer?
Question: I have a 0.5cm point sticking out from a neck lymph node. What could this be, besides cancer?
The lymph node itself was swollen but has since returned to a smaller size, but the protrusion remains. Waiting on blood work, but need some non cancer theory for peice of mind.

I am so sorry to hear about this swollen lymph node and all the inconveniences this must have caused you. I have reviewed this information fully and it is suggestive of a possible adenitis and not cancer. Cancer wouldn't regress in such a very short time. MA pretty sure you and an infection around the head and neck region that must have caused this reaction leading to inflamed glands. It cannot be cancer given the temporary nature and the rapid regression.

I've also had instatible thirst for the last 2 days. No matter how much I drink it's not enough. I'm peeing all the time, almost hourly, and it's totally clear. I measured by blood glucose and it's normal, I'm not a diabetic.

Blood test came back, absolute lymphocyte was low 0.8 k/cumm, while 4 years ago it measured 1.4 k/cumm.
