Question: I had a hiv rna ql test 5 to 6 weeks after possible exposure. How definitive is the result as it came back negative. I am having some pretty strange physical issues.

At six months after exposure if HIV antibodies by ELISA are negative then the person is termed HIV free as its sensitivity is 99.99 percent at 6 months. They can be done and repeated after 3 months if negative.

It was an early HIV detection test. They can detect as early as 12 days after possible exposure. It's not the same as antibody.
