Brief Answer: Gradually tapered it by 250mg per week Detailed Answer: Hi According to weight, normal range of depakene is around 20 to 50 mg per kg. According to your weight, it should have been around 2000 mg. If you are getting side effects at 1250mg, in that case, tapering depend upon your symptoms and number of past manic or depressive episodes. If number of episodes are less than 3 or you are asymptomatic for last 3 -4 years, then you can think about tapering it by 250mg per week after psychiatrist consultation. Rest, you can discuss with your psychiatrist. In case, you need further help, you can ask Regards Dr. Abhishek Kapoor Psychiatrist
