Is There Any Treatment For Becker Nevus?
Question: Is there any treatment for Becker Nevus.
I have this on my back below the shoulder. It was brown in color but not hairy, only the skin is pigmented. I got this when I was a toddler, now I'm 25. Over the years it got a bit light comparatively. I approached the doctor for the same and he said nowadays Becker nevus is not responding to laser treatment for many people and suggested me to try 'Kojiglo gel'.
I wanted a second opinion on this, would the cream suggested by the other doctor help me with getting rid of the brown spot I have or are there any other creams?
Also are there any laser treatments that can help me with this, If so would there be any side effects if I undergo a laser treatment.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Laser can be helpful
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
The pigmentation is deeper in case of backers nevus and hence it rarely responds to creams.
It can be effectively treated using Nd YAg laser.
The response to laser varies from individual to individual hence it is not correct to say that backers nevus is not responding to lasers.
You can give it a try.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

If I want to try this laser treatment, how many sessions (sittings) would I be needed and how much will it cost on an average for each setting.
Are there any possible side effects with Nd YAg laser treatment?

Brief Answer:
5 sittings
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You might require 5 sessions at a rate of one session per month. I am not very sure of it's cost in the states, however in my country it is priced around around 5000 INR per session.
There are no side effects.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.

When I go to XXXXXXX can I get first two sittings of the laser treatment and next two sittings in my next visit (might be a year later). Would that be effective for backers nevus removal or do I need to get all 5 sittings consistently?
Brief Answer:
Get two settings now
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Its better if sittings are consequent but it's not necessary.
You can get two settings now.
