Is There Interaction Between Anzac, Epilim And Lyrica?
Question: hi
my father in law has epilepsy and depression. he takes a anzac and epilim at 200mg three times a day. he has some back pain issues and is due to go for a scan but gp has prescribed him some meds for the pain to try.. lyrica 25mg tablets. 1 tablet twice a day for a few days then 2 tablets twice a day. GP is aware of his other medications. I searched this one online and says it's actually an anticonvulsant med that is used for pain sometimes. is it OK in the case of my father in law as he already has epilepsy issues? would it interfere at all in the sense it can throw his epilepsy control out of balance or anything cos he's been on the epilim for a while and is good on it.. just wanted a second opinion

Brief Answer:
There's no risk of precipitating a seizure
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for the query.
There's no adverse interaction between the three medicines and there's no chance of it precipitating a fit. Lyrica however causes sedation and it is better to start with one tablet at night and work up the dose to produce pain relief.
