Brief Answer:
No, should not fly.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Pleurisy is inflammation of the lining around the lungs and chest wall. People are usually quite ill when they have pleurisy and so I would say no, you shouldn't fly when you are that ill.

But first it is important to diagnose whether your respiratory symptoms are due to pleurisy. You should see a doctor for this. When the doctor listens to your lungs, if there is pleurisy, there is usually an abrasive sound that is characteristic for this. He or she should also get a chest X-ray to make sure there isn't pneumonia. If there is further reason for concern, a chest CT or ultrasound can show in more detail what is going on.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
