Brief Answer:
Kindly furnish details.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Ms. XXXX,

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

I would like to know why your physician wanted you to get evaluated for PCOD.
This is not the only cause for weight gain in women. There are also several other causes like hypothyroidism, weight gain after a delivery, weight gain after using hormone contraception etc.

How quick is your weight gain? What is your BMI? Is your weight gain recent?
Do you have regular menstrual cycles and with normal flow?
Do you have any inter-menstrual bleeding/spotting?
Do you have prolonged bleeding/spotting?
Have you ever been told that you have multiple follicles/cysts in ovary/ovaries during a routine ultrasonogram?
Have you tried for conception without success? ( if you are married)
Have you noticed abnormal hair growth on the body and face in the male pattern?
Have you ever had abnormal glucose tolerance, insulin resistance or abnormal blood sugar levels?

Please give me the above details. I will try to clarify your query. You can also upload any relevant reports.

regards,
Shanti.V.

Brief Answer:
Detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

In the current scenario, I would ask you to see a gynecologist in person for a proper clinical evaluation, get a trans-vaginal sonogram, complete hormone assay including serum Prolactin, serum DHEAS levels, Antral follicular count and insulin resistance test.

The diagnosis of PCOD is dependent on several factors both clinical and investigation.

Please follow up with reports.

Hope this helps.

regards,
Shanti.V.

Brief Answer:
You are always welcome.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You are always welcome to ask for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

I have also gone through your other queries asking for suggestions about disc problems. I would also like to suggest walking at a medium pace to keep yourself active. This will help proper blood flow and also helps to control the weight gain to some extent and elevates the mood.

Wish you good health.

regards,
Shanti.V.
