Hi, I was detected with PCOS 6 months back and have been in medication since then. After 6 months, i did the scan again, and was told that the cysts have not grown further and its safe now. Can i get pregnant now? In short, will people with PCOS can t get pregnant? Thanks a lot
Women with PCOS have a difficult time getting pregnant. It is because they have larger ovaries which have cysts that contain immature eggs and hence cannot be fertilized to form fetus. PCOS interferes with the women's hormone and if they conceive they are at a higher risk of developing complications during pregnancy.
However, by managing the symptoms, many women with PCOS can become pregnant and have a healthy baby. You are suggested to get treated for PCOS before trying to conceive for a healthy and happy pregnancy. In the meantime get fertility treatment done also and switch to healthy lifestyle. Cut on addictions if any. If Obese reduce weight. Avoid stress and control diabetes or any other disease. Give time to yourself, get fit.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
