Is Vaccination Available When Diagnosed With Hep B?
Question: I know I am hep B positive for years, never really cared for it much. I just have a new partner and we had un-protective sex. I want to know based on the hep B report i just got, am I infectious? Am I chronically infected? Will the hep B vaccine help to reduce risk of my partner getting the disease? During the 6 months course of vaccination time, can he get disease from me through kissing, un-protective sex?
Brief Answer:
Yes you are chronically Infected and thus making you infectious.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back to HCM. Please note according to reports you are infected and therefore by extension, infectious to others. The hep B vaccine will make you less contagious. The best approach I would use, have you partner get his 3 series of hepatitis B vaccine, this will surely almost make him immune to getting hepatitis B in the future from you or elsewhere. And yes, he can get the disease from you because it is transmitted through bodily fluids. These body fluids include blood semen and vaginal secretions. Saliva is NOT included in this category of note. I hope this helps to clear up your questions, thank you and good luck.

Thanks for your answer. So I am contagious, but sounds like I don't necessarily give the disease to others through just one time unprotected sex? Is there a contagious level? I know I had partner who done test and never caught Hep B from me before.
Brief Answer:
There are many factors that are involved in transmitting the disease.
Detailed Answer:
Some people have contracted hepatitis B and and do not have any indications of an infection and completely clear the virus. However, immune abilities are individual, rendering different people to have different susceptibilities to infections of various kinds. Your titer level at the time of proposed transmission may be low, therefore rendering your infectivity low. Remember if somebody has already been immunized in the past and they've should not contract hepatitis B. One is obviously more infective when they have active signs and symptoms of a particularly disease.
