Is Vomiting After Breastfeeding Normal In A Child?
Question: My 1.5 months old son vomits lots of milk. he can not sleep comfortably because milk comes up after some time and he vomits milk from mouth and nose. I also make him burb every time I feed him and some times he vomits with burb. he is only taking breast feeding. Kindly suggest.
Brief Answer:
Proper burping is possibly lacking.

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I am not sure if the burping technique is proper. You should burp the baby for at least 15-20 mins after each feed. All you need to do is to hold the baby head end elevated for this duration. Proper burping will ensure its escape and the milk will not regurgitate back from the stomach to the food pipe, thus providing relief.
If that still does not help, your child would need to be clinically evaluated to rule out the possibility of pyloric stenosis and/or intestinal obstruction.
Let me know if you have further queries.
