Is White Discharge And Cramps Normal After Nexplanon?

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Oct 2014
Question: Hi, I've been on nexplanon for 3 or 4 months. My period started about 2 weeks after it was implanted & the period & spotting lasted for 2 months. I had sex while there was light spotting & maybe 2 or 3 days later the spotting went away completely but I had brown discharge for about 3 days then there was A LOT more moisture down there than usual for about 4 days. That finally went away but I'm still having more white discharge than usual & I've been having mild cramps every now & then for the last 4 or so days. Could I be pregnant ?!

Brief Answer:
Hormonal Variations

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) You are unlikely to be pregnant.

2) These types of symptoms are common to occur after the nexplanon implant.

3) This is because of hormonal vairaition and progesterone withdrawals in between.

4) It takes some time for body to adjust to the implant and wait meanwhile.

5) Pregnancy is unlikely. Still if you are highly suspicious get pregnancy test done to confirm the same.

Let me know if you have any more queries.

Regards,
Dr. Mahesh Koregol
