Low Grade Fever With No Other Symptoms. What Can Be Done?
Thank you for the query.
In Mixed connective Tissue Disease, fever can indicate -
1. Flare - Fever can be the only manifestation of increased activity of connective tissue disorders. Elevated sed rate and C reactive protein could be helpful.
2. Inflammation of serous membranes like pleura and pericardium. The pain in the chest can be mild and can be overlooked. X XXXXXXX of the chest and 2D Echocardiogram will be helpful.
3. Infection - can be anywhere in the body. Abnormal complete blood count, urine examination will be an indicator of infection. Tuberculosis infection can be a rare possibility which can manifest only as fever.
4. Please look for lymph node swellings, as these can be small and can cause fever.
5. Rare causes will be aseptic meningitis (though there will be headache with or without nausea and vomiting) and myositis (muscle pain and swelling).
Hope I have answered your query, please write back if you have further concerns.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
