Is Bruising, pain And Swelling Normal After The Calf Surgery?
I am 42 female that lacerated my mid calf with a piece of sheet metal 1 above the ankle , I cut through the muscle and both tendons. had surgery to repair and the incision is healing well. I am in a walking cast but not weight bearing for another 4 weeks. But I have pain in the muscle on the interior of the leg and swelling down to the foot along with bruising around the inside of the lower ankle. Is this normal or should i be concerned. I am keeping it elevated as much as i can - should i put ice on the muscle to help with swelling. Thanks
Regarding your concern, I would explain that ice will help reduce the swelling and inflammation. I recommend consulting with your surgeon for a physical exam. Sometimes bruising can occur during the process.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
