Noticed Large Purple Lump On Anus And Hurts To Touch. What Is Causing This?

Question: First off i do plan to go to a doctor about this because this scares me as soon as im able to (next day), I have had a large purple lump on my anus for the past weekish and i it hurts when i touch it. last time i had it (only had it once before many years) it just went away in about 2ish days. this time it has been there for about a weekish and all day today at work i had a rash around it and ive had rashes more frequently latly (lump is still there), well today i was concerned because there was blood, not as in a small ammount but as in there was enough to cover several fingers and drip. I am going to the doctor tomamrow about this but before i go i want to see what i might be in for becuase this is scaring me
Hello,
XXXXXXX,
I am glad that you attached a picture.
This called prolapsed thrombosed hemorrhoid.
That is why it is very painful.
You probably have had XXXXXXX hemorrhoids
for sometime. If your stool was hard and you were
straining, this could happen. These arer small
blood vessels that get squeezed during straining.
I am glad thawt you are seeing the doctor soon.
In the meantime, apply cold compresses over
the lump.Keep the area clean. You can apply a
cream containing 5-10% cortisone and local
anesthetic lidocaine.Your pharmacist will help
you with this.
Also, pick up some stool softener if your stool
is hard.
Surgery is not always indicated.
Wish you well.
