Noticed Patchy Skin Near Vagina. Is This Due To Yeast Infection?
Question: My girlfriend has a dry flakey patch of skin inside her right leg kinda by her vagina, i believe its a yeast infection rash due to the immediate peeling, no pain, and no blisters
Brief Answer:
Could be Fungal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thanks for posting at HealthcareMagic.
Groin folds are a common site of fungal infection. Its because of the fact that sweat gets trapped in between groin folds and gives rise to an environment conducive for fungal growth. Hot, humid weather predisposes it even more.
If i were the treating dermatologist i would have asked to apply a topical steroid+antifungal cream twice daily for 2 - 4 weeks.
Use of an antifungal dusting powder like Clotrimazole dusting powder would prevent it from recurring.

Hey doc i was wondering what where the creams you recomended again, and she is also allergic to penisilin if that would cause any problems?
Brief Answer:
Antifungal cream
Detailed Answer:
Hi. you can ask her to apply either a plain antifungal cream (clotrimazole cream - You can find this OTC) OR if she has itching in that area then you can ask her to apply an Antifungal+steroid cream like clotrimazole+beclomethasone cream.
Penicillin allergy won't cause any problems
Take care
