Noticed Pulsating Going In Stomach. Have Dull Numbing Pain. Had Gall Bladder Removed. Feel Fatigued. What Could This Be?

Question: Hello, I have been trying to lose weight lately by eating healthy and excercising and I recently noticed this wierd pulsating going on in my stomach. I can feel this pulse underneath my left rib cage about two-three inches underneath my chest. I notice it mostly at night when I lie on my stomach or back. I even pressed on the area and it made a wierd, whooshing sound like something was being excreted from whatever this is. It makes a grumbling sound and feels like rushing water. The pulse it self does not hurt, I have a dull numbing pain there(guessing from trying to figure out what it is myself).
It makes my stomach rumble and I can feel it move as if I were pregnant, which I am not. I have already checked that option out. There is no possible way for this to be pregnancy. I have had a child before and the movement feels exactly like when a child rolls over in your stomach, except for this is in my upper abdomen. I also feel a pulsing sensation on my right side about 5-6 inches below my chest but it is very faint.
I am 21 years old and have had my gall bladder removed. I also noticed I am very fatigued and bruise easily. I also have been having muscle spasms and dead legs since starting the healthier lifestyle but I cannot figure out what this pulsating is and it has me worried. I hope I have given enough info for you.

Hello XXXXXXX
thanks for the query.

You have 2 pre-occupations;
-loosing weight and
-the sensation in your stomach.

Concerning loosing weight, there is just one formula, that is reducing the amount of calory intake per day. This could be done by reducing the amount of calory XXXXXXX foodstuffs and taken more of vegetables and fruits with little caloric values such as oranges, pineapples, water melons etc. Fruits like pears should be avoided due to its high fat and protein contain.

Also, reducing or avoiding snacks is key to weight loss. Most often, snacks turn to be very XXXXXXX in caloric levels and fats and thus make weight loss really difficult.

To effectively reduce weight, your friends or brothers and sisters have to be implicated as well. By letting them know, they could help in the support you need and to constantly draw your attention to the fact that you need not to eat certain things in huge quantities.

You might also consider to joint a team in which members are trying to reduce weight as well and or work with dietician.

Unfortunately, weight gain is a consequence of hypothyroidism and hypothyroidism can aggravate the digestive symptoms and fatigue which you mentioned. Symptoms of hypothyroidism include weight gain, fatigue, constipation, muscle cramps etc.

Moreso, it is common to have digestive symptoms following a cholecystectomy (removal of gall bladder) though the symptoms do not last for more than a couple of weeks, some patients may have residual digestive symptoms that could further aggravate your digestive symptoms.

For the stomach issue, its likely that you are having dyspepsia which could be due to acid problems or poor digestive function as regards motricity needed to empty the bowels. Meeting a Gastroenterologist is thus important and key to a better outcome.

Hope this answers your query. If you have further query, i will be glad to help.
Best regards

I am not concerned about losing weight I already have that down and have a great plan. That has nothing to do with my question other than I noticed this sensation once the diet started. All I need is the answer to what is going on with it. I have all the symptoms of Graves' disease except for I have hypo not hyperthyroidism.

I also recently have been extremely stressed and could have anxiety. I don't know if this helps. I went to the doctor about my anxiety and told him about the pulsing and annoying rumbling sensations I have been getting. He didnt do anything for either things. Actually never even touched base on what is wrong. That's all I need to know

Hello XXXXXXX
thanks once more for the query,

i must have gotten you wrongly but all the same the discussion is still open and i will hammer on the real issue at hand which you have me crystal clear to be the stomach symptoms.

After consideration of the information you have give, i think you are suffering from dyspepsia. Dyspepsia is a vague medical condition used to describe an association of upper digestive symptoms including grumbling, burping, epigastric pains, pains on left or right inferior rib regions, feeling of fullness in stomach, early satiety etc.

There are various causes of dyspepsia including Gastroesophageal reflux disease, consumption of caffeine, alcohol, and certain food types, certain drugs such as anti-inflammatory drugs, depression etc. Infection with a particular bacteria known as H. pylori has been associated with dyspepsia and eradication of this bacteria has been shown to improve symptoms.

You did mentioned about Grave's disease. It is an etiologic form of hyperthyroidism and symptoms include palpitations, bulging eyes ( exolphthalmus), weight loss, hair loss, excessive sweating etc. This are the classical symptoms for hyperthyroidism without which it is hard to say you have symptoms of hyperthyroidism or grave's disease.

Hope this answers your query. If you still have further questions you want me to clarify, i will be glad to do so.

Best regards.

Is there anything I can do to fix this naturally? It keeps me up all night to where I get no sleep and I don't have money for expensive doctors visits.

Hello XXXXXXX
thanks again for the query,

Natural ways of improving on dyspepsia rely on lifestyle and diet modification. The following could be of help;
-avoid excessive eating or eating to fullness
- rather eat in bits,
-avoid staying for long without eating
-avoid gaseous drinks, alcohol, and caffeine
-do not eat and then go to bed immediately,
-avoid spicy food stuffs and especially pepper,
-avoid stress
-take note of food stuff that provoke or aggravate your symptoms and avoid them,
-a little exercise such as walking regularly would also be of help.

Hope this helps you and answers your query. If you have further query, i will be glad to help. If you do not have further query, you could close the discussion and rate the answers.
Best regards.
