Painful, Hard Lump On Shoulder Blade. Help

Question: I have a painful small lump in the top of my shoulder blade. The lump is hard. It has been there a week.
Hello XXXXXXX,
Thanks for your query.
The presence of painful, hard lump over the shoulder blade can be due to:
1. Injury to bone or soft tissue in that region
2. Infected cyst
3. Tumor
Investigation like X XXXXXXX will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.
Though symptomatic relief can be obtained by intake of analgesics, it will be better to consult your General Physician once & get a proper examination done to find out the exact cause.
Based on that, appropriate management steps could be taken.
Wishing you a good health.
Let me know if I need to clarify further.
Thanks & take care.

You mention a tumor. Could his be bone cancer?
Hello XXXXXXX,
Thanks for your follow up query.
Please don't get concerned about the possibility of a bone cancer.
1. There is less chance of a bone cancer developing within a week
2. Bone cancer will have its whole lot of symptoms like fever, night sweats, unexplained weight loss, restriction of movements, severe pain & tenderness sometimes associated with fracture.
So, X XXXXXXX will be needed to find out the exact cause of your symptoms.
Hope I have been able to answer your query.
Please let me know if you have any further queries.

I actually asked another question based on your response...you posted the same answer. What kind of tumor could this be?
Hello XXXXXXX,
Thanks for your follow up query.
In your previous query, you had asked about possibility of cancer & I tried to rule it out.
Whether the lump is benign or malignant (cancer) can be confirmed only by investigations.
For this reason I advised you to get the preliminary investigation (X ray) done.
Hope I have been able to answer your query.
Please let me know if you have any further queries.
