Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for your query.

I would like to know a few more things about the problem before I give you my opinion-

1. Is the rash dry and scaly as you are applying Cetaphil and Aquafor?
2.Does it come and go or it is constant?
3. Is the rash only over the face or involves his whole body?
4. Is there any pain or itch associated?

I would be more helped if you can send me the images of the rashes the baby has.

Please mail me the picture to YYYY@YYYY SUB: ATTN Dr.Rakhi Tayal.

Anticipating an early response.

Dr Tayal,
Thanks for the reply. We have attached photos of the child's face with the rashes.

Baby's lifestyle:
Baby's age: 9 months, started crawling. Eats Gerber carrots, Apples and banana, Chicken and veggies stage 2 and yogurt plus oat and rice cereal.

Uses Johnson's head to toe baby body wash during bath.

Treatment so far for the face rashes:
Tried Cetaphil and Aquaphor, but no improvement. I started applying betnovate-n once a day at night. No improvement so far.

Answers to your questions:
1. Is the rash dry and scaly as you are applying Cetaphil and Aquafor?
The rashes are concentrated 95% on his face, 5% around the neck.
They are red on the cheeks with white or puss bumps or grains. They are not
itchy or scaly at present and he does not show any discomfort due to this.

2.Does it come and go or it is constant?
The bumps are constant and they get worse usually when he is in the sun or right after he gets up from his sleep

3. Is the rash only over the face or involves his whole body?
Face and parts of his neck

4. Is there any pain or itch associated?
So far, this is no pain or itch involved.

Hope to hear back from you soon.

Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing back.

The rash as is evident from the photo is a very mild one and does not seem to be allergic or infective in origin.

Such kind of facial rashes are a normal finding in young children. None of the creams and lotions that you apply will help him.

This rash will subside on its own with time. You need worry about it.

Hope I have answered your query. I will be available if you have any further queries.

Wishing your baby an early recovery.
