Chlamydia pneomonia is a type of atypical pneumonia caused by C pneumoniae.
In young adults and children it either causes no symptoms or minimal symptoms and patient is not inconveinenced much.
Diagnosis is by serological tests. A a rise in titre of IgM antibodies to 16 or more or a four fold rise in the IgG titre in a paired sera are the criteria used for diagnosis of C pneumonia.
False positivity may be seen if you have been exposed to other chlamydia like C trachomatis or C psittacosis.
Treatment is generally for the symtoms like fever and body ache. You are not having any symptoms hence you may not require any treatment. However, pl consult your physician who can examine you in detail and if required can prescribe you necessary antibiotics. Commonly used antibiotics for C pneumonia are doxycycline and macrolides like azithromycin or erythromycin.
