Thanks for posting your query.
Considering the details you have provided, you seem to be suffering from an upper respiratory infection either viral or bacterial.
Another likely possibility is that of an allergic rhinitis and pharyngitis since you mention that you frequently suffer from such symptoms.
For appropriate curative treatment first of all the cause or diagnosis needs to be established which can only be done by a doctor after thorough physical examination and if necessary few blood tests like complete blood counts, esr , throat swabs and xray of chest .
However symptomatic relief for the present episode may be found on taking apropriate prescription drugs like
1.Antiinflammatory analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen .
2.Anti histaminics like levocetrizine or chlorpheniramine available as over the counter cough cold medications.
3.Bronchodilator and mucolytic medications containing salbutamol and ambroxol which will help in easy breathing.Nose drops containing oxymetazoline may help if the nasal congestion is the cause of difficult breathing.
Please remember that if these symptoms persist for more than a week despite symptomatic treatment then you might be having a bacterial infection which will need a course of antibiotics like azithromycin or cefixime used in prescription doses for upper respiratory infections.
So in such case its best to consult your physician to avoid complications.
Meanwhile you may try these tips to prevent frequent respiratory infections or allergies.
1.Avoid dust, pollen, pets and smoke exposure as much as feasible.
2.Wash hands and face as frequently as feasible after coming from outdoors, travelling , exercising, before eating anything , etc
3.Warm saline or alcohol based gargles thrice daily help in faster healing of sore throat and pharyngitis.
4.Thrice daily steam inhalations and nose drops may help in faster relief from colds and prevent chest congestion and cough.
5.Last but not the least a nutritious diet, plenty of water( 8_10 glasses per day), and atleast half an hour of daily exercise or yoga will strengthen your immunity and decrease the frequency of infections.
Sometimes following these measures at the very first sign of colds can lead to prevention of worsening like sinusitis, pneumonitis etc.
Hope I have answered your query.
