Severe chill with warm face may result into fever. Chill before fever is seen in many conditions like viral fever, malaria etc.
If he develops fever then you should do sponging of whole body with normal water and give paracetamol tablet 500 mg SOS.
Investigations should also be done to exclude certain other conditions. It includes routine hemogram,Malaria parasite test, Blood culture etc.Further investigations can be done if needed.
If you don't have thermometer you can assess fever by dorsum of hand(surface of hand opposite to palm area)by touching forehead and general body surface.
If any problem, you should consult your doctor.
Get well soon.
Hope i have answered your query.
Further queries are most welcome.
