Brief Answer:
Unexplained Fever

Detailed Answer:
Dear Lcanaras,
There are many causes of unexplained fever. Before pinpointing a diagnosis we need to know complete history. What type of fever you have i.e is it constant? only there is evening rise? or it comes periodically? Is this fever associated with any chills or rigors? Are there night sweats? Pruritis, weight loss?
If a complete blood count has been done we need to have details as regards total and differential count along with details of peripheral smear examination. Blood culture studies and urine examination studies.Having done all this it will give clue what important investigation you need to undergo to pinpoint the diagnosis. There can be many causes of spleenic enlargement. The ultrasound will show the increased size but not the cause.
If you have all these details I will be happy to answer your further queries. Your primary physician will determine all this.
Your worry about leukemia/ lymphoma is a possibility but bluntly we should not think of these till all investigations are done and causes ruled out one by one.
Truly,
Dr. J. Ticku
