Should I Continue Pregnancy Inspite Of Ultrasound Showing No Fetal Heart Activity?

Question: i was 6 weeks pregnant and in my ultrasound had tiny fetal node with no cardiac activity and i tested positive for torch rubella -1.38 cmv- 1.68 herpes -1.32 S/Co
my doctor suggested me for an abortion .was this a correct step?
Brief Answer:
as fetal heart activity is absent abortion correct
Detailed Answer:
Dear member,
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
As your ultrasound shows no fetal heart activity there is no point in continuing pregnancy.
Rubella infections in early pregnancy effects the fetus and causes many anomalies.
So it's better that this pregnancy is terminated.

i have also been on antiviral medication (spiramycin, natclovir, acyclovir)due to my torch positive report for 28 days as suggested by my doctor.
Brief Answer:
tab mefenamic acid and tranexamic acid will help.
Detailed Answer:
Dear member,
Thanks for writing back.
I believe you took medical method of abortion -mifepristone and misoprostol regimen.
This usually causes the abortion to be prolonged bleeding, though the bleeding after 1st week is usually light.
Any minimum retained pieces/ products causes repeat spotting later in the cycle which is common.
If bleeding is so irregular and heavy as to cause low hemoglobin then it is better to do an ultrasound and check for any retention.
Tab mefenamic acid and tranexamic acid will help reduce pain and bleeding significantly. I use this combination regularly at my clinic. You can discuss with your gynecologist about the same.
The antiviral Drugs you are taking are recommended for toxoplasma infection.
Also consider iron and multivitamin supplements for anemia.
Please don't worry as irregular bleeding is common after an abortion.
If it still persists then oral contraceptive pill for 2 cycles will regularise the period.
Write back if any doubts.
Thanks
