Sore Eyes. Painful Skin Rashes On The Waist

Question: I have had sore eyes for a few days. Last night developed rash on my front above my waist and it is now hurting a bit. Just wondered what this might be. I feel pretty well apart from itching and slight burning where the rash is

Thanks for posting your query
I have had a look at the lesion in the attached file
Your history and the image both are suggestive of viral infection
Probably herpes
Viral infections are self limiting and the treatment is of symptoms only
For itching you may take antihistaminic like Cetrizine
Do not apply calamine lotion as against common suggestions
If the lesion spreads you may take antivirals from you doctor
The rash in the eye can also be viral conjunctivitis
If there is no discharge do not take any. Medicine other than Cetrizine
