has had asthma but has used inhaler. has hypertension but blood pressure is 123 over 75 pulse 77. Ear has also been hurting off & on for last 3 days. What should I do?
thanks for the query.
Sore throat and ear pain are symptoms associated with Weakness, chills, shallow breathing and headache are general symptoms that result in the case of an infection.
Asthma is a chronic disease with chronic inflammation of the respiratory tract. In advance forms, the patient may be weak but it starts firstly with expiratory wheezes before the patient becomes very weak with the wheezes not heard again. Since your daughter did not first have the wheezes before becoming too weak, its less likely that its her asthma.
Hypertension is a persistent elevated high blood pressure of more than or equal to 140/90. With your daughter's values it is less likely that she is hypertensive also giving her age unless its a secondary hypertension.
You should see a doctor, so that a throat examination should be done with a detailed physical examination and a throat swap test done to investigate the causative agent. Antibiotics such as amoxicilline or amoxicilline and clavulanic acid will be helpful together with paracetamol for pains and mouth wash sch as hextril or Drill pastille.

thanks once more for the query.
Normal body temperature is an average of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit although variations for up to a degree can be observed depending on the activity and time of the day.
94.5 is very low and it is XXXXXXX to the body. Circulation could fail with persistent and falling temperature. The causes vary and include;
-sepsis: due to infection accompanied by dropping blood pressure in advanced and severe forms of the infection.
-hyothyroidism: a metabolic condition involving the thyroid
-exposure to cold and
-a defective thermometer.
Given that she is having an infection, it is likely that she is suffering from a sepsis and effective antibiotics which your doctor could prescribed will be a corner stone of treatment. However, a careful examination is needed.
Hypothermia is a severe condition and is fatal, thus prompt action is needed.
Firstly, you should get her temperature retested rectally with a different thermometer; if its still low ( below 98.6 by greater than a degree) then prompt consultation should be made to your doctor meanwhile hot soups, thick dresses should be encouraged.
