Brief Answer:
Typhoid fever is treated for 10 to 14 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Treatment duration for uncomplicated typhoid fever is usually 10 to 14 days. Most patients feel better after 7 days therapy. WIDAL test is done in the 2nd week to determine infectivity and further course of treatment for complete cure.

Ciprofloxacin (Ciprodac) is drug of choice to treat typhoid fever. Supportive drug therapy is also given. Oral rehydration salt (ORS) with boiled water should be continued till complete recovery of the patient. Take only easy digestible food stuffs. Maintain personal hygiene and take adequate bed rest.

Kindly, take a follow-up visit to your doctor for complete clinical evaluation and recovery.

Hope, above information is quite helpful to you. Kindly, close the discussion in case of not having other query.

Wish your good health and take care yourself.
