I can understand your disappointment about the treatment of the skin problem of your son.
As a Homoeopathic physician of long experience with this sort of skin problems, I can assure you cure for your son's skin condition.

Atopic constitution and hence the atopic dermatitis, by definition, is very much a genetic one. Therefore it is likely to remain for a very long period of time. If not cured permanently, the atopic dermatitis is likely to come and go as in the case of your son.
There will be usually abnormal reactions to certain irritants, food, and environmental allergens leading the skin to become very itchy. Patient scratches uncontrollably and makes the skin red and flaky.

His physical general symptoms including his stature, appearance, appetite, desires and aversions in food and drinks, thirsty or thirst less, stool, urine, sweat, sleep, chilly type or hot type of constitution etc. are to be understood. His sleep, position in sleep, dreams etc. are to be probed. His senses and sensitivities are also studied.
His mind is a very important area to study : His will power, intelligence, emotions, memory, morals, sensitivities in the mental level are all to be probed. Whether diligent or non diligent, whether introvert or extrovert, anxious or apprehensive, attachments, fears, etc. are also studied.

His family history is then important . Especially the familial disease tendencies.

All these are important areas that a Homoeopath will explore to understand the genetic and individualistic constitution of the patient. We can find a genetic curative remedy for him. That will cure him and then you will find relief for the symptom of scrathcing of skin of your son. That will be a peermanent cure.
