Granulomatous myositis is an uncommon muscle disease, which leads to widespread weakness of muscles.

Steroids are the first line of treatment. It is unfortunate that you did not improve with this. In your case, other immune suppression treatments would be alternative treatment options. These include:

1. Methotrexate,
2. Azathioprine,
3. Hydroxychloroquin,
4. IV immunoglobulins,
5. Anti-TNF alpha agents (Infliximab)

Please discuss about these therapeutic options with your neurologist to decide the best one for you.
