Question: Hello Doctor,

I am 7 months married and I love my husband but I am not able to enjoy sex with him. Sex always hurts me. I am not even sure if my hymen is opened completely or not as it pains as much as the first time. Sometimes my vagina becomes dry so my husband tells it might be because of it but many times it's wet even then it pains alot. Please help.

1) First of all do not panic.

2) I will suggest to be calm, relaxed and happy during sex act.
Prolong the time of foreplay. This will help you to have good lubricating secretions and relaxation of vagina. You can use - on prescription- water based K-Y jelly, if needed to ease out penetrative sex.

3) If needed a good sex counselling session and local gynec examination will be of help. This will help to know the condition of hymen and or tightness of vaginal opening.
