I have extremely painful menstruation, is dat somehow related to my type of hymen??? what should i do....? I am very confused...!!!!
Septate hymen, many a times, may be torn naturally, during the act of sexual intercourse or exercises etc. However, If the septate hymen tissue does not tear naturally or thru sexual intercourse, then the recommended treatment for septate hymen is a hymenotomy.
It is a minor and often very simple procedure, that removes the extra tissue around the vaginal opening. This procedure can be performed in the office of doctor or in the outpatient setting just after giving local anesthesia. Definitely, all your symptoms seem due to septate hymen and hence you are advised to see your doctor and treatment done accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
