Suggest Alternate Over The Counter Medication For Budesonide

Posted on Wed, 27 Jul 2016
Question: It was quite difficult to find a budesonide INHALER (I did get the liquid for a negulizer). Then $0000 as insurance did not cover. My contacting you again was to see if you knew where I might find this inhaler or if I could order it from XXXXXXX Turns our some strings were pulled in my behalf: insurance and, of all places, WalMart came through. Insurance approved at $000 and WalMart had in stock. I am now anxious to try according to your directions tho most of the 'good' I had from the pred withdrawl is gone. Hope this will bring some of it back.
Again, thanks so much.

I can understand your concern.
In XXXXXXX budesonide is over the counter.
In XXXXXXX it costs 200 Rs (3 dollars) for 2 months therapy.
I don't do why it is so much costly in your part of world.
Did you get budesonide Inhaler over the counter?
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

WOW - what a difference. How can I order OTC from XXXXXXX or, how about a store in the states that carries these meds. Tried med 1st time this AM around 10:45 (had symbicort around 10:25 via your directions). About 11:15 had awful bout with breathing, Even oxygen did not help and did not recover until 1:30. Might this be a side effect? I did have Palmocort in hospital with no ill effects. If this is side effect, will it ease up as I get used to it? Would like to get to where I was feeling on pred weaning.
I'm still feeling encouraged so will keep trying. Anything else I should expect so I'm not surprised? Thank you so very much.

Brief Answer:
Do you follow proper inhaler technique?

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.

Sorry to say but I have no idea about sending budesonide from XXXXXXX to XXXXXXX
Honestly speaking, there are no side effects with budesonide. It is very safe inhaled corticosteroids (ICS). So don't worry about side effects.
I don't think your awful bout of breathing is due to budesonide.
Most common cause for side effects is faulty technique of inhalers use.
So please let me know, do you follow proper inhaler technique?
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

I believe I inhaled properly. Followed directions exactly in package. Deep breath, DO NOT breathe into inhaler, mouth around mouth piece, inhale deeply and hold awhile before exhaling. Correct use?
All paperwork with inhaler suggests many side effects, some quite serious. According to what you are saying this would be rare. Even made my room mate stay home in case something happened. Palmicort and Budesonide are the same drug, aren't they? Which is more effective: the Palmicort Flexhaler or Budesonide Inhalation? Are they interchangeable? Again, thanks.

Brief Answer:
Pulmicort is having budesonide only.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, your technique is proper.
And no need to worry for majormajor life threatening side effects.
And yes I have just searched. Pulmicort is having budesonide only.
So both are same. If you are getting pulmicort easily then take pulmicort.
Can you please send me image of your pulmicort flexhaler so that I can guide you further.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
