Suggest Alternate Over The Counter Medication For Dubagest SR

Question: I had a early pregnancy failure 6 months back. Now I am 7 weeks pregnant.I was prescribed dubagest 300 mg for initial 2 weeks (once daily), after which it was changed to dubagest 20 mg(B.D). are these both the same? Is the reduction in dosage produce the same effect ?

Hi and welcome.
Yes,this is same medication,progesterone,but with lower dosage and it will have sufficient effect in preventing miscarriage since it is recommended to have 300 mg dose only in first several weeks of pregnancy which is most critical for miscarriage. Later,there is internal progesterone production and dosage should be reduced till around 16th week of pregnancy. Wish you good health. Regards
