Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would recommend switching into anther drug of this class (ARBs) like olmesartan, valsartan or irbesartan.
You can take olmesartan 20-40mg daily.
Valsartan usually 80-160 mg daily up to 320mg daily.
Irbesartan can be taken at the dose 150mg daily, up to 300mg daily.
You should discuss with your attending physician on the above options and chose the most appropriate and affordable drug.

Is Irbesartan the same as Losartan?can be taken at the dose 150mg daily, up to 300mg daily.
Would any of these drugs replace taking the combination of Amlodipine and Atacand or would I still need the Amlodipine with these suggested drugs?

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
I believe that among all the alternatives I mentioned above, probably valsartan is the cheapest one.
Nevertheless you have to ask your doctor or pharmacist on the exact price rates on your living area.
Losartan probably is cheaper than valsartan, but it is less effective in controlling high blood pressure.
Regarding amlodipine, it is a calcium channel blocker, a different class from all the above mentioned drugs and cannot be substituted by them.
So I would not recommend stopping it.
