Is There Any Good Reason To Prefer Benicar Over Losartan?
For hypertension, I now take amlodipine, fosinopril and benicar. I am thinking to switch from the benicar to a lower cost angiontensin II receptor blocker -- losartan, for example -- whose patent, I understand, has expired, thus making for lower retail (and especially wholesale cost -- to which I have (lawful) access). Is there any good reason to prefer benicar over losartan? Thank You

Cold and flu-like symptoms (stuffy nose, sneeze, sore throat and fever) are very common with losar. benicar is better tolerated than losartan and a new addition to azilsartan group. Losar has good bp lowering potential though.
