Suggest Alternative Treatment For Insulinoma
Question: My. Wife. Has. An. Insulinoma. She. Needs. Bedtime. Diet. She. Is. Treated. At. XXXXXXX XXXX for over 23. Yea
Brief Answer:
she may benefit from some medicines
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
I understand that your wife is suffering from insulinoma for last 23 years and mostly on dietary management to counter low sugar. But you have not mentioned anything regarding surgery or drug treatment. In fact you have not asked any specific questions also.
I will assume that you want some general info regarding treatment. If she is not on any drugs, I would suggest considering diazoxide or octreotide. These can help in improving the sugar levels. Also, surgery or radio frequency ablation should be attempted if not already done.
Hope this helps. I will be available for follow up.

Brief Answer:
she is probably doing fine
Detailed Answer:
Her sugars seem pretty okay for insulinoma. Apparently xeloda and dietary management is fine. If sugar falls further you can talk to her doc regarding diazoxide.
