Question: I have prostate cancer and they only want to castrate me. This sucks - would you like to-be castrated

Castration is the only treatment option for Cancer of Prostate .

Cancer of the Prostate is dependent on hormone called Testosterone secreted by both the testicles .Cancer of Prostate can not be cured or controlled unless the production of Testosterone is stopped completely .

Hence treatment of Cancer of prostate is aimed at to suppress the production of Testosterone either removing both testicles by surgery called Bilateral Orchidectomy or by suppressing the production of testosterone by medication like Depot injection of androgen blocking, hormone analogues, like Leuprolide( Eligard ) along with Bicalutamide,This is termed as Medical Castration .

If I were to suffer from cancer of the prostate I will not refuse to get castrated as it is in my interest to give relief from suffering like severe pain in addition to improve quality and prolong life .
