Suggest An Alternative To Azithromycin For Treatment Of Nipple Infection
Yes it can cause Fever
Detailed Answer:
HI
Greeting from Dr. Divakara.P
First of all thanks for choosing Healthcaremagic for posting your query.
Yes Nipple Infection can cause low grade to high grade fever.
Regarding the choice of antibiotics it depends on the treating doctor and the extent of infection. Though I personally feel Azithromycin is not a good choice for Nipple Infection, it depends of the local prevailing trend which the doctor will be aware of .
If you were my patient I would have suggested Amoxycillin+ Clavunate. You can talk to your doctor about this antibiotic and get prescription.
If there is any discharge from nipple then I advise you get a test called Pus Culture Sensitivity and revert back with reports.
Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .
Regards.
