Brief Answer:
Some food restrictions

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM. I carefully read your query and understood your concern.

First, you have to understand that a controlled high blood pressure is considered under 140/90 mmHg. Also, blood pressure is a fluctuating parameter of the organism, which may vary under physical activity, psychological stress etc. The figures you provided are considered normal due to these factors. However, salt should be restricted totally from your diet, as it retains fluid, and may cause blood pressure to rise. My opinion is that your therapy is effective and good to treat high blood pressure. Also, I think that you should have at least 300 g of fruit and green leafy vegetables a day, which contain fibers, which lower high cholesterol and, indirectly, help lower the high blood pressure. If even after these measure are undertaken, your blood pressure constantly remains above 140/90 mmHg, then a third anti-hypertensive should be added to your therapy.

I hope I am helpful with your answer. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up questions.

Kind regards,
Dr. Meriton
