Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I went through the query and understood your concern.
Bronchitis requiring antibiotics are due to bacterial infection. Usually presents with cough with copious sputum, along with inflammatory signs like fever, breathlessness, weakness. The respiratory sounds will also change.
Only with cough and tightness in chest may be due to allergy, gastric reflux or even with throat infection.
For my patients without signs of bacterial infection I advice warm salt water gargle 3-4 times a day with steam inhalation along with anti inflammatory drugs like acetaminophen 15mg per KG body weight (maximum upto 650mg) 3 times a day. This will relieve in most of my patients. So I advice the same to you.
If tightness continues then broncho dilator like salbutamol inhaler may help you.
We are not allowed to prescribe antibiotics without examination and hence I can't prescribe you.
You can follow the above instructions and if the symptom persists or worsens then need to consult your doctor for examination and for prescription.
I hope this information helps you and answered your question. Feel free to ask if any further queries and I will be glad to answer them.
Wish you good health and faster recovery.
Regards
